The RvA assesses conformity-declaring organisations: laboratories, inspection bodies, certification bodies and verification bodies. Organisations that, in turn, assess products and services from suppliers. Does a conformity-declaring organisation meet the set standards? Then an accreditation mark is issued.
Conformity assessment bodies that assess suppliers’ products and services operate in every imaginable field of work: health, environment, construction, energy, food, transport, finance and many more.
These fields of work consist of various disciplines; for example, it may involve testing a sample in a laboratory, measuring critical components of a complex installation, screening an organisation and its production processes or examining a person.
