Coronavirus (Covid-19) Outbreak

RvA continuously monitors government and other external advice to assess possible risks related to the outbreak and spread of the Corona virus (Covid-19). As a result, RvA has taken, and will continue to take all necessary precautionary measures. These measures might impact assessments and meetings due to take place in affected areas.

For the time being RvA assumes that assessments and other activities planned after June 2020 will not be affected. For assessments and other activities planned until the end of June 2020 RvA will evaluate the situation and possibilities on a case to case basis. As the situation develops this approach may be amended as appropriate.

RvA is considering alternative ways to conduct assessments and attend meetings that have been affected by the evaluation of the actual situation on a case by case basis. Where possible and appropriate, RvA will make necessary arrangements to conduct assessments remotely, based on documents or to reschedule if necessary. For meetings teleconferencing will be considered where necessary and appropriate.

These measures have been put in place to ensure the health and safety of RvA staff. As stated above, RvA is continuing to monitor government and other external advice to assess the risks and will provide further updates as the situation develops.

Certification bodies need to familiarize themselves with the content of the Bulletins published by RvA and, where appropriate, with the content of IAF document ID3: 2011 “Management of Extraordinary Events or Circumstances Affecting ABs, CAB’s“.
