Purpose of IAF CertSearch
Certsearch provides information about certificates of management systems issued under accreditation. The database is initiated to be able to verify the international supply chain. IAF uses this verification to enforce the reliability and the value of certification under accreditation, and to act against fraud. The RvA supports voluntary use of IAF CertSearch by certification bodies.
Role of RvA and certification bodies
The RvA uploads and manages the information on the accreditations of certification bodies against ISO/IEC 17021-1 in the database. Certification bodies may decide whether and for which standards and schemes they participate in IAF CertSearch. When a certification body chooses to participate in IAF CertSearch for a standard or scheme, that company uploads and manages its own information about the certificates issued.
