Roeland Nieuweboer has been appointed chair of the Executive Board of the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) with effect from 22 June 2019. He succeeds Jan van der Poel, who is retiring. The Supervisory Board has decided to switch to a dual management system. Joep de Haas will become a member of the Executive Board from the same date.

Over the last 13 years Roeland Nieuweboer has fulfilled a variety of roles at the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate. ‘He has wide experience of quality management and understands the conformity assessment institution field,’ says Yvonne van Rooy, chair of the Supervisory Board of the RvA. ‘He has international experience, is familiar with the public and private sectors and is capable of bringing the two together.’

‘With the appointment of Joep de Haas, operations director at the RvA since 2013, continuity is assured. The Supervisory Board welcomes this new team, which can build on the solid position the RvA has acquired over the last few years under the leadership of Jan van der Poel,’ says Van Rooy.
