As of 1 July 2021, the Ministry of Domestic Affairs (hereinafter The Ministry), as the Notifying Authority, will register the notifying bodies (NB) for the CPR in the NANDO* information system. The Dutch Accreditation Council will therefore discontinue their activities for NANDO as of 1 July. Accreditation remains the basis for notification.Read more

Only European national accreditation bodies are allowed to grant accreditation within an EU Member State
This ruling is the outcome of legal proceedings concerning the accreditation of a group of Italian laboratories by an accreditation body based in the United States. Italy's national accreditation body – Accredia – has referred the matter to the European Court of Justice (C‑142/20) because Accredia believes that accreditation in Italy should be carried out by the national accreditation body. The ruling applies to the entire EU and the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).Read more

The RvA recently amended policy rule BR010. This policy rule specifies the conformity assessment activities that the RvA can accredit.Read more
Notified bodies are the institutions that carry out activities in the context of CE marking. These institutions are also referred to as nobo’s or notified bodies.
By April 2023, these conformity assessment bodies (CAB’s)must be accredited according to mandatory standards for accreditation. Previously, it was still possible to choose. The aim is harmonization within Europe.
