RvA Transition policy towards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

01-05-2015

In response to the upcoming publications of new versions of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (with expected publication dates around September 2015) and the publication of IAF ID9 and ID10 (IAF Informative Document on Transition Planning Guidance for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 respectively, the RvA has determined its transition policy.

This policy has been published as guidance document RvA-T041 Implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015.

In short, the CAB may choose from 3 options:

  • Assessment spread over several regular assessment visits (no extra costs, regular accreditation follows after the last assessment);
  • Earlier assessment through extension of scope assessment including witness (extra costs, may result in faster regular accreditation);
  • Earlier assessment through extension of scope assessment with a witness within the first year (extra costs, may result in faster accreditation with additional conditions for witness).

Prior to May 15, 2015, the CAB should indicate which of the above options is selected.

Please refer to RvA-T041 for details on the options and the assessment. Though the assessment may be initiated during the FDIS phase, accreditation will not be given before the publication of the new standards.
