Arrival and transportation
Welcome to the Netherlands. On this page you will find all the information you need to travel to your destinations in the Netherlands.
Arriving by plane
If you’re arriving at Schiphol Airport, travelling by train is the easiest and fastest option to go to our office and to the hotel in Utrecht.

Buy a ticket – You can purchase a train ticket at the yellow NS ticket machines or the NS service desk at the airport. You can also use a contactless debit/credit card or an OV-chipkaart to check in at the columns before you go to the trains.

Find your train – Follow the signs to the train station, which is located directly beneath the airport. Look for a train to Utrecht Centraal. Trains to Utrecht run frequently (every 10–15 minutes).

Board the train – Most trains to Utrecht are operated by NS (Dutch railways). The journey takes about 30 minutes. Make sure to check in with your ticket or card before boarding.

Arriving in Utrecht – You will arrive at Utrecht Centraal, the main train station in Utrecht, located in the city center. The Hotel is located just outside Utrecht Centraal. For directions to the hotel, please have a look here.
Arriving by train
If you are arriving to the Netherlands by international train, you willl either arrive at Amsterdam Centraal or Rotterdam Centraal. You can take the national railway to travel to the hotel and to our office in Utrecht.

Buy a ticket – If you are on an international train, there are two options:
- You can buy a ticket that includes Utrecht Centraal as your destination.
- You can buy a ticket from Amsterdam Centraal or Rotterdam Centraal to Utrecht Centraal

Find your train

From Amsterdam Centraal: Some ICE International and Intercity Brussels trains stop in Utrecht. If not, take a regular NS Intercity (every 10 minutes, ~25 minutes travel time).

From Rotterdam Centraal: Some Intercity Brussels trains stop at Utrecht Centraal. If your international train doesn’t stop there, take an Intercity train via Gouda (~40 minutes).

Board the train – Always check the departure signs for platform information and whether your train stops in Utrecht. Don’t forget to check in with your contactless payment debit/creditcard, OV Chipkaart ticket or regular ticket at the columns.

Local transport options
If you’re scheduled to attend an assessment, it might be possible that you have to make use of other forms of public transportation besides traveling by train. You can use the 9292 website to plan your trip in advance. They also have a mobile app that you can use. Both the website and app have an English language option.

A taxi ride within the city will cost max. €22,50. A taxi ride to and from Schiphol Airport will cost you € 79,-
